Started in 1936 the W A E Certificate is believed to be the second oldest contest in Amateur Radio

RULES FOR THE WORKED ALL EL PASO CERTIFICATE

  1. Work any 15 El Paso county stations, any time, any band, any mode, digital or analog.
  2. No charge for the WAE. No QSL cards required, send log information to W5ES 2100 San Diego Ave., Texas 79930 or send Cabrillo file to W5ES.EPARC@gmail.com

THE WORKED ALL EL PASO CONTEST

OBJECT OF CONTEST:

The object of the contest is to provide the opportunity for El Paso Amateur Radio Operators to exhibit their operational abilities, provide comradeship among amateur radio operators, and provide information and contacts for the WORKED ALL EL PASO certificate.

The Worked All El Paso Contest takes place the first weekend in November

ELIGIBILITY:
Any licensed amateur radio operator who is a bona fide resident of El Paso County, Texas.
REGISTRATION:
Fee is $5.00
OPERATION:
Operation on all bands, frequencies and all modes.
Operation and logging must be by a single operator.
Calling procedures shall be "CQ El Paso Contest".
Contacts shall be informed of the rules for winning the WAE certificate, unless the contact already has the information.
LOGGING:
1. UTC Date and Time
2. Call
3. QTH (Town and US State or town and Canadian province. Only country for DX contacts)
4, Handle (optional)
5, 10-10 and Grid Square number. (optional)

 

 

      

SCORING
Each valid two way contact (outside of El Paso County) will count for one point. EACH STATE of the United States and each CALL AREA of Canada will count as multipliers. Duplicate contacts and multipliers will not count. The Contestant's score will be the total number of contacts times the total number of multipliers. Contestant is requested to show claimed score, sign the log, place the log (or a copy) in an envelope, mark WAE CONTEST on the envelope or Cabrillo file. The contest log must be in the W5ES clubhouse, 2100 San Diego Ave., El Paso, Texas 79930 no later than November 30.
JUDGING:
The judging of all logs for all awards, including the Special Awards, will be done by a minimum of threre registered contestants who are not in contention for FIRST, SECOND, or THIRD place awards or special awards. Logs are subject to verification by the judges. The decisions of the judges will be final. Winners will be announced and all awards will be presented at a place to be announced.
